Biography

100_2292Nina Muys was born in Austria and lives in Silver Spring, MD. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland and studied Printmaking at the Academy of Art in Rome.

She is a founding member of the Washington Printmakers Gallery and has shown her work locally and internationally for 35 years.  Her most recent retrospective was at the Austrian Embassy in 2009.  Including her several solo shows at the Washington Printmakers Gallery, Nina’s work has been exhibited at Strathmore Hall, The Stimpson Center, the Dorchester Center for the Arts, Jane Haslem Gallery in Washington, D.C., and the Austrian Embassy.

Nina Muys’ work is in many collections in the United States, including the Library of Congress, the Museum of Women in the Arts , the White House, the University of Maryland and the National Institute of Health. Her work has shown internationally in Belgium, Argentina, Egypt, China and Brazil.

Nina works out of her studio on Taylors Island on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

  2. Your new blog looks terrific. I am glad that you selected the print of Taylor’s Island for the top because the refection of the shoreline in the water is so well done.

    Good Luck with your show at the Austrian Embassy in September. I am very disappointed that I won’t be able to get there.

    It’s just great to see you’ve become a successful artist. I would have not found out about you if not for all the cross references from Google etc.
